The Australian Raven, Corvus coronoides. Though I love all the corvines, I am especially fond of the Raven for thier myriad symbolsim, haunting call, and perfect darkness.

This post was written on Mon Dec 22nd, if all has gone well, while you read this I will be somewhere in the Kosciuszko National Park. Heres hoping the conditions for photography are good - we wont be able to hike much as we have limited time this trip - otherwise, I might never be seen again except to recharge the camera battery. Perfect darkness, good description.
The Australian Raven has the same eyes as our Jackdaws.
