Cockatoos in Norfolk Pine

Sulphur Crested Cockatoos in a Norfolk Island Pine tree just off a beach we stopped at on our travels the other day. Complications arose with our fence installation yesterday, so today we are back at it. Its looking good so far, but heres hoping today yields no surprises and we can finish it!
Best wishes for your day and all you have planned!

Okay I know I sound like a doofus, but these birds are just - wild - in Australia? I mean - I suppose they have to come from somewhere - but, okay I'll be quiet now. :)

Many thanks! We are having a break now - just two more panels - HOORAY!!

BetteJo Thats right, they are wild here and they fly around in big groups too - its pretty amazing to see! Before Id come here Id only ever seen one at a time in pet shops - its been great to get to know them here in thier element. So no worries Mate!

Hope your fence turns out just the way you want it.

The wildlife you've got there is just fantastic, it seems so exotic. All the birds there are so 'showy', in Brit they are mostly camouflaged and hide away.
Congrats on finishing the fence. Risking appearing a fool, what is it you were fencing in? I missed the details somwehow.

Amazing to see wild birds around as beautiful as them.

Anon Oh yes, this weekend there will be some serious relaxing! Tehehe!

Barkfoot Exotic is a great word for it. I think parrots can afford to be more conspicuous, as they have those powerful beaks to defend themselves with. :)
You didnt miss anything, it was my fault! I rushed it and didnt make it very clear what the deal with the fence was, Sorry about that......but its just a backyard fence between ourselves and the neighbors - however the lay of the land made it a doozy of one to do! (Why didnt we buy a flat plot of land???)

Captain They really are splendid to see...you know I still miss things like the trees colouring up in autumn, or the special greens of spring - but I do often feel adequately compensated by the bird life here down under :)
