Take time to lick the roses!

Momma Little Wattle Bird let me get this photo of her licking aphids from the rosebuds! A sweet treat for her, and elegantly served, dont you think?

Her eggs are due to hatch any minute. Tommorrow we will have Budgie Sunday as usual while I continue to stalk the nest.

Tommorrow is day 16, so they are due to hatch But due dates and actual arrivals can vary, so I will check the nest each day when she goes out for her 'break'...I will also listen carefully during my next checks as sometimes budgie chicks begin to call before they hatch - how cool would that be to hear one of these?!

Lavender, I miss visiting your blog and will return when I am much better from this nasty flu. Don't worry, I am leaving this comment from the isolation ward. :-)

Anon Tehehe Im so excited too! Ive just returned from hanging out some washing, and on my way back I saw her standing in the nest...at first I thought she just might be regulating the temperature as its quite warm today in the backyard...but she then was doing something in the nest and making soft sounds that I havent heard her make before....I think I will be looking toward the tree MANY times today :)

Ces Take your time and get better, maybe add some Chicken noodle soup, that always works for me...I hope youre feeling better very fast! Fingers crossed when you return we will have some little chicks to show you!
