8 days old, Little Wattle Bird Chicks




Dad Little Wattle Bird came back from foraging while I was shooting the chicks yesterday. I took his pic as I slowly backed away. Its pretty clear he wasnt impressed with me!

Anon Teehehe The first pic "FEED ME!!!" thats one energetic chick...must love his insects! You know youre in trouble when they look at you with BOTH eyes :)

Catnapping They certinally are, they are more curious too...Ive started talking to them when I visit - hopefully they will remember me when theyve grown up and not think Im a predator LOL

Barkfoot He i, isnt he?! Man, I thought for sure he was going to fly up and peck me...actually surprised he didnt LOL!

this series is so fun to follow: the babies still look scary to me but i know they are just babies...

haha yes BetteJo that last pic the bird looks pissed...guess it's camera shy ;), but those first couple are awesome. I love seeing nature in a raw form like this.
