Yesterday while I was in the aviary, a euro. house finch was collecting moulted down feathers from the budgies, off the wire of the aviary - she has a nest in the neighbors attic tho, so we wont be getting pictures of that colourful nest Tehehe!
Hooray! Thanks Anon! Mrs Little Wattle Bird seems to be working more on it today than when she started...she is using thin twigs, and strips from palm fronds so far. I have some coconut fibre left over from my Finch days, I thought I might toss that out for nesting birds to find - will see if she collects some of that for the lining HAPPY DAY!!
Hi BetteJo! Ive been trying to get good photos of these birds for quite some time, one post where you can get an idea of what a Little Wattle Bird looks like is here
But Anon has Red Wattlebirds at her place, and her shots are gorgeous of them - check out her post Jam and you can see a Red Wattlebird eating some - jam, of course! LOL
Is me tagging you in the Random 8 Meme considered "spam"? I love your blog, and especially your photos. If you're up for it, details about the game are on my blog, www.pattylakinsmith.blogspot.com. (I picked you since you were on the beadmakers blog ring).
I haven't taken the time to check out your blog fully, but your pictures are really beautiful. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera do you use?
Patty Not spam LOL Im always flatterred when someone tags me (Thank you!), although Im a big chicken when it comes to tagging others :) Your beads are lovely! See you over at your blog shortly :)
Nick Thanks Nick! I appreciate it - be careful with everything crossed! Tehehe
Barry I have a love/hate relationship with my Kodak DX6490, please feel free to let me know if there is anything specific I can tell you about it - Thanks for stopping by!
Mrs Little Wattlebird will be sure to love the coconut fibre! We left something out for the Reds too (can't remember what it was). It should only take a few days to build ... they are fast! Don't miss anything like when I started pruning for a better shot! Hhehheee.
Got another shot today - its progressing nicely - and the coconut fibre is out! She is nearly done with the nest already - surely eggs cant be far off and Im very curious what they will be like!

Okay, what does a wattle bird look like? Even if you have posted a pic in the past - I have a mind like a sieve. Humor me, please!
