(The pic was taken June 29th) Since its still not opened, I might post some closer shots to show the interesting colours the bud has, that are difficult to show when it is backlit - perhaps next post?
... looks most impressive though... what happens when it DOES eventually open up..? Does it go off like a hydrogen bomb or something (well anything's possible in Australia, land of the bum-biting redback!!)

Oh Lavender I am so glad you're back. I love your serial posts - watching the birds hatch - now waiting for the flower to bloom. So fun!

I can see the colours indeed. I think it will be a fiery flower that will shatter blogworld's record of the biggest opened jaws saying WOOOOOOW!
