Budgie Sunday - Moult nearly over

Heres the back of Baiter's head. See those 'pins'? They are the shafts of his new head feathers. The shaft is made of a material similar to our fingernails. Once the shaft has fully emerged, the soft part of the feather will unfurl from inside the shaft. Baiter is nearly done with his spring moult.

Please vote in the poll - see the upper right hand corner of your screen - and Have a great Sunday!

Fantastic photo lavender! I'm for one - very pleased you have shown Baiter's 'pins'! He's a good looking 'old timer' even with rollers in his hair HAHA. That poll is a difficult one, but being a daily visitor, I wouldn't miss out on posts other than Budgie Sunday ;) Happy cage cleaning Lavender! Might turn the hose onto self ...

Yeah, I don't think those pretty budgies need to be confined to any particular day, or only one day for that matter!
The moulting explanation is really interesting for somebody like me who knows nothing about birds!

BetteJo Hooray! Thats two people today who learned something new - that makes me feel great - I rather like learning stuff myself - especially if it can be done without being totally boring, LOL
Thanks BetteJo, and I appreciate your feedback and vote - Hope oure having a great saturday night! :)

Captain Thanks very much Captain! (((((Salutes))))

Oneida Oh Thanks Oneida, Im glad to hear that and appreciate it! I do just have budgies now, I used to keep Gouldian Finches (Gorgeous little things) but will save that story for another time. From time to time I take in other birds that need care, and they are later released. I enjoy them very much!
I have 17 budgies that are 'permanent residents' (pets) :)
I take it then that where you are the Eagles are gathering in December - oh what sight that would be - I hope you get many great sightings!! :)
